If you would like to serve web pages securely on your own domain name (i.e. https://www.yourdomain.com/) you will need to purchase a private SSL certificate for your domain name.  If you do not have a private SSL certificate, your visitors will receive a warning in their browser when they visit https://www.yourdomain.com/.
An SSL certificate encrypts the information that your users are sending to the hosting server and the information they receive back. This helps prevent users’ sensitive information from being compromised while your users are communicating with your website.

To purchase an SSL certificate, simply e-mail Sales and let us know which domain and specific subdomain you wish to purchase an SSL certificate for.  For example, www.yourdomain.com and store.yourdomain.com are different; you can only secure one or the other using a single SSL certificate.

* In order to install a private SSL certificate for your domain, we will need to have your domain hosted on a dedicated IP address if it is not already. There is a small additional charge for a dedicated IP address due to their growing scarcity in today’s internet. Moving your domain to a dedicated IP address can take up to 48 hours before it has taken full effect throughout the internet so we recommend contacting us at least 2 days in advance for installing a new SSL certificate. *

We will purchase the SSL certificate on your behalf from Geotrust and install it on your account. If there is an SSL certificate you wish to purchase which is not listed on our website, please contact us.
